Upon her return from the United Kingdom, Vanessa Hudgens decided that her best shot at securing a bona fide career in show business involved a move to Los Angeles. There’s little doubt that Vanessa would still be toiling on local stages were it not for the support of her family, who abandoned their comfortable lives in San Diego to support the burgeoning star. Hudgens immediately jumped into the grueling auditioning scene, trying out for anything and everything she was allowed access to. Her hard work paid off in 2002, when she landed one-off guest spots on a pair of television shows: the sitcom Still Standing and the crime drama Robbery Homicide Division. MJ Death: Dr. Murray feels strongly innocent

MJ-Dr-Murray
MJ Death: Dr. Murray feels strongly innocent - Dr. Murray Will NEVER Cop a Plea in MJ Death: Sources directly connected to Dr. Conrad Murray, the Doc will not accept any plea bargain from the L.A. County District Attorney in the Michael Jackson manslaughter case.

We're told Dr. Murray feels so strongly about his innocence, even a plea with no jail time would be out of the question.

Fact is ... Dr. Murray shouldn't hold his breath, because no plea bargain has been offered and sources tell us the D.A. will not offer one.

As for Murray's defense ... we're told the centerpiece revolves around the fact that only two people were in the room around the time MJ died, and Murray insists he did not administer the fatal dose of Propofol.

The operating theory of Murray's lawyers -- when the Doc left to go to the bathroom, a frustrated MJ woke up and administered the fatal dose himself in a desperate attempt to get some sleep.

Get Metta World Peace, Leave Ron Artest

Metta_World_Peace
Get Metta World Peace, Leave Ron Artest - How Metta World Peace Will Play a Role on VH1: Los Angeles Lakers forward Ron Artest wants to change his name at the same time "Basketball Wives" recruits his wife. Los Angeles Lakers forward Ron Artest filed a petition in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday to legally change his name to Metta World Peace. The move comes just a few days after it was announced that Artest's wife Kimsha has been cast in VH1's Basketball Wives: Los Angeles.

The show premieres Aug. 29 and will likely be one of the first programs to showcase Artest's name change, as the NBA season doesn't start until the fall and the Basketball Wives franchise also features the cast's husbands/significant others.

Artest cites "personal reasons" for the name change, which Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak told ESPN "brought a smile" to his face. Asked whether Artest's jersey will say "Peace" or "World Peace," the GM replied, "I'm an advocate of World Peace."

RIP: Peter Falk dies at 83, june 24 2011

Peter_Falk
RIP: Peter Falk dies at 83, june 24 2011 - Peter Falk, the gravel-voiced actor who has become an enduring icon representing television Lieutenant Columbo, the rumpled raincoat tough LAPD homicide detective who has always had "one" to ask a suspect, died Thursday. He was 83.

Falk, who says he suffered from dementia, died at home in Beverly Hills, according to a statement to a lawyer and friend of Larry Larson.

In a more than 50-year acting career that spanned Broadway, movies and television, Falk appeared in more than 50 feature films, including "A Woman Under the Influence," "Husbands," "Luv," "Mikey and Nicky," "The In-Laws," "Wings of Desire," "The Great Race," "The Cheap Detective," "Cookie" and "The Princess Bride."

"Husbands" (1970) and "A Woman Under the Influence" (1974), both of which were written and directed by Falk's close friend, John Cassavetes, provided Falk with two of his best-known dramatic film credits.

But it was his role as the blue-collar family man trying to deal with his mentally unstable wife (played by Gena Rowlands) in "A Woman Under the Influence" that he created what former Times film critic Charles Champlin called "one of the most complex and contradictory portraits in his career."

Early in his film career, Falk has received two Oscar nominations for best supporting actor - for playing a vicious murderer mafia "Murder, Inc." (1960) and his interpretation of the right of a man of gangster Frank Capra comedy-drama "Pocketful of Miracles" (1961).

Falk screen combination of hardness and softness encouraged Hollywood columnist Hedda Hopper to another label to New Yorkers, "James Cagney or John Garfield -. A man to replace Irreplaceable" @hot zone
